Coralife Super Skimmer not producing bubbles

Hello, I have my coralife super skimmer, it will only produce bubbles in a few inches of water, as soon as I have a little evaporation it stops working. if i put too much water in it does not produce any...

I am getting an ATO unit very soon, but is this normal operation for this skimmer?

The water level in your skimmer needs to stay constant for best performance.
