Cornbred Frag Grow Out

Cornbred Chalice Grow Out

I'm looking for 5 people to do another grow out, so 6 people total. I can get a hold of Cornbred's Rainbow Crush Chalice and Blue Planet Coral Flame thrower frags direct from Rich Negret, Cornbred's partner, and maybe getting some extra frags too. Buy in is $275 via Paypal gift, the grower will only pay $150. Grow out rules apply, as in grower is not held responsible if the frag doesn't do well unintentionally, so join at your own risk. The plan is to get the frags from Rich (Cornbred Seller) and have the grower take care of it, maybe once it's fragable into 2, cut it and have another grower grow the other frags, to increase survival rate by keeping them in 2 different systems. Once enough growth and mouths/eyes have grown, chalices will be divided amongst the grow out members.

Below are example colonies of Cornbred's Rainbow Crush and BPC Flamethrower.

As would I, but I would like some info on the tank that will house them, as well as who would do the fragging. I would be scared to cut such a nice piece of coral.

If anyone wants to volunteer to be the propagator and they have the right tank and experience then feel free to volunteer. Otherwise I don't mind placing them in my tank. I have a 180 SPS reef, but I'm going to be hooking up a small tank next to my display tank just for these frags, so they can get less flow and less light, which chalices like. It will also be easier to feed them if they stay in a smaller/shallower tank. This tank will be plumbed into my SPS tank sump. I use carbon and GFO and chaeto and vinegar for carbon dosing. I dose 2 part calcium and alkalinity to my reef.
Again, if anybody wants to be the propagator, and they are comfortable with chalices, then they can volunteer.
I will also be posting this on reef2reef to get more guys from there.
These frags will probably cost you about atleast $2000 if bought retail. The BPC Flamethrower alone is one of the top 5 most coveted chalice and not easy to find.
Growth Rate: I haven't owned these chalices before so I don't know their growth rate, some chalices grow fast and some slow. It will be a few months to get enough eyes to split these up.

I would love to be the grower I am a well know. Coral vendor and have a 25 gallon frag tank which houses only houses chalices and they are all thriving please let me know if your interested in me being the coral grower. I have 3 years experience propagating corals.

If I can get enough people to join in and if it's okay with them for you to grow (since you are kinda far and will have to ship us the corals), then we are on. If I don't get enough people, I might just get these for myself, LOL!
Guys, the good thing about grow outs is you only spend partial money and if your frag doesn't make it, one of the other members can frag you another piece once theirs is fragable. Just gotta have patience and wait for the chalice to get big enough to be split between all members.

Theres 4 of us total, if that includes you. I Haven't gotten any response in R2R. Coral grow out groups are much more popular over there, but theres a bunch of them going on right now, so it might be hard to get people to join in over there due to the investments and commitments going on already.

I have to see if the group, which I'm assuming will be from around chicago will be okay for you to be the grower. And I have to see if I can get enough people.

I think I would feel a little better if the grower is locally in Chicago or close by. There's always the risk when shipping, I've already had a couple of corals destroyed by ups already.

Lets get like 4 people in the growout, I will be the grower if you want the reason for less people is I know these chalices they are very slow growing and it takes months just for 1 eye to pop out.

That ReedKnowsCorals guy seems shady.. just sayin'.

He wants to grow them but not pay for them? What?
