CPR bakpak help

This is a tank that has been cycling for 6 weeks. I keep adding rock and hermits. I drop a few pellets of fish food every couple days. This tank has no light as well.

I also have a aqueon hob filter with a chemipure bag.

What kind of pump is on the bak pak? I see you modified the intake, Is it the same length as the original?

Looks like everything is working well. I would raise the collection cup a little but everything looks good. You will need an ATO to keep the water level steady.

Collection cup foot should be 1/4" above the water line.

I doubt the intake is the same. It's off by an inch. It's also Prolly twice as wide. The pump is rated between 250 and 265 gph. The tank is an inch from full. Hmmmm. Idk. Should I rebuild the intake so stock size?

Maybe because you have it on your tank sideways?

I'm thinking it looks fine as is. Your probably not getting anything for skim because there's nothing to skim yet! Once you have a bunch of corals and fish, you'll be emptying the cup regularly.

OK. I know this is an old thread. But it pertains to what I have. I found an old BakPak that I forgot I had. No pump on it, and I need a new collection cup "O" ring.

Here is my question. Do you still use the bakpak, or have you changed it out? If you still use it, how does it perform for you? And what brand of pump was that?

Sorry for all the questions. Any help would be appreciated.

I have one on my daughters 10gal using a MJ1200.. It does the job IMO
