I was thinking the same thing...I don't know why you would ever dial down the pump though?

I think that instead of using a gate valve to adjust the levels in your skimmer all you have to do is adjust the pump speed. This is another example of manufactures tailoring to our needs and not just using general equipment. I really like it the more I research it, there's another video on YouTube where a LFS compare the parts and the quality of the pumps.

On our ships we have been have been changing out old AC fire pumps for DC pumps. They run better and require less electricity. Yes and there is less of a chance of getting zapped.

But if you lower the speed of the pump then you're going to be pulling less air as well...would there ever be a time when you wanted to do that?
