DE Metal halide bulbs...

Hey guys,

Well my phenoix 14k's are getting to their close spectrum change... So time for new bulbs... I've been wanting to get some nice, blue 20k bulbs this time around. What are people running?

Right now I'm leaning on trying the XM 250w DE 20k bulbs right now... Mainly cuz I can get a pair right now for 80 shipped for brand new, never fired bulbs... Anyone run them before? Thoughts on growth and color?

See, that was the 1st bulb I searched after I saw your tank. But i can't find any stores that sell it besides an online store names Jims Reef?
 
Hmm... I'm tempted to just buy those instead... I've read mixed reviews on the XM 20k 250w's... But 80 bucks for both brand new bulbs is just so tempting... I've got almost 2 more months to think about lighting... I want something that's 20k color but also gets decent growth...
 
That's what I read... the XM's have cruddy par and make your tank really dim.

And hmm, ok! I think i'm gonna do the EVC's...Only 3 bucks more vs new phenoix's. Where is Jims Reef located? I also need new VHO actinics...wonder if he's got any. None under his website
