Divers Guide on how to ask for help

I keep getting called a jerk and a-hole lately so I thought I would post my friendly advice on how to ask for help on a reef forum.

1. If you have a issue don't perform thread necromancy or hijack on a slightly related topic, post a new thread with your information, its much more likely your question will be answered.
2. Post test results, do not post 'params all check fine' give us actual numbers.
3. Information on both the size and maturity of the tank is helpful
4. 'API test kit shows 0', is a useless statement, watch dr tims video here about test kits

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPiDRid_Km8&feature=player_embedded

and realize that api kits have a narrower range than most, spend $20 on a real test kit before panicking.

Post information on anything you are dosing, adding, feeding to the tank; vodka, fuel, urine, biopellets etc etc etc.
