I'm picking up A coralife pro with 2 65 watt pc, MH 150 (phoenix 14k DE) and 2 moonlights tomorrow. I'm Going to build a custom canopy for my 29gal standard (30" L x 12" W x 18" H)

How high should I mount the lights to get the best coverage but not bleach the coral? (mixed)

:caked: So you're upgrading? I knew you would sooner than later Dan! I'll leave the pros to answer your questions. I see you like it around Chicago Reefs. I'm glad you like it.

Haha....yes Im upgrading already - but this should be the "final" upgrade for the 29g as it gives me enough light for pretty much anything. Just need to decide how high to mount it and but the canopy. Its actually a 36" unit... for my 30" tank - gotta do some mods.

Not to get off topic but the corals are doing great :)

Coralife 130w - Yes, I know that I need to acclimate my corals over several weeks. Just want to get the planning out of the way for the canopy build.

guesing they were pc bulbs as long as u aclimate them id say about about 6*8inches or so from water make sure your canopy is vented for heat to escape my leds are aboth that far over my bio cube and everything i doing well but leds are different hopefully someone with halides on similar set up will chime in gl be sure to post those pics
