Do Your Crabs Climb to The Top of Your Rocks at Lights Out?

I have about 15-20 blue and red leg hermits in my tank. At 11pm my lights go to blues only. Every single night at this time, every one of my crabs climbs the live rock to the highest point. They all gather in one small area. Is it just a party? Is it an orgy? Why to they do this? I assume there is more food elsewhere in the tank (such as the bottom).

Does this happen in everyone's tank?

Mine do the same even my emerald crabs & Coral banded and there still there at 7.00 a.m. waiting to be fed cocktail shrimp . could be the blue/moonlights

Yep mine will group up on top of the rocks not sure why maybe a predator thing I also have had them "host" birdsnest corals before really wierd

yes mine do it too, its always the tallest rock on the right side of my tank, then during the day nearly all of them will make their way to the left side on the sand the eat leftovers from what I feed fish, then its back to the rocks, its like they have a schedule.

They were actually heading down for the night when I snapped this. I counted 16 of them in a 6" by 6" area.

I'm guessing the come out when the moon goes up but go away when it gets dark. I'm all blues (at 10% power) from 11pm until midnight when I'm just moon lights (3 LEDs at 3%). I when I took this, the moon lights had been on for about 5 minutes and the whole group was heading down. Pretty cool.
