Does anyone have a tribal blenny in their reef tank?

i've had nothing but bad luck with blennys. They won't go after corals, but they will nip clams and can be aggressive towards other fish.

Booooooooo. :'(

I've heard that they're very docile with other fish but I want a more personal opinion about the coral nipping/destroying.

Mine eats spectrum pellets and never bothered a coral or a clam.
Had him for years.

I've never used Spectrum pellets.. Are there different kinds/sizes? If so, what kind/size do you feed yours?

They're fairly new to the hobby, right? The black ones with the almost neon blue/green on their face?

I use the 1mm size.
Here he is today in his rock.
He is in a large reef .
I had anotherone in my other reef with some 6 in plus maximas with no issues
but every fish can be different. If someone says they seen them nip clams you need to monitor.

Tribal Blenny
Atrosalarias Sp.

Great for algae control
Description: Brand new for the aquarium trade, another interestingly marked algae blenny. This one is collected from the waters off of Sri Lanka. Unforgettable warpainted accents on a beautiful royal blue background make this a must have for the aquarist looking for unusual but easy to keep saltwater fish specimens. Combine the incredible markings on its face with its great personality and it becomes a must have.. The Tribal Blenny will add both visual appeal and a great algae control specimen to any marine aquarium its placed in.
Recommended Tank size: We recommend a minimum of 20 gallons with live rock, and it is best to house singly unless kept in a larger aquariums.
Feeding and Diet: Loves natural algae to feed on, the diet can be supplemented with vegetable matter, spirulina, and herbivore preparations.
Level of Care: Easy
Reef Compatibility:Very good reef or community fish.

I have had an algae blenny for about 6 months. I got him cause all the good reviews on how neat of a fish they are. I have found those review to be right on as far as the blenny's temperament. It has never nipped a coral or bothered anything in my tank. I use to feed him one or two inches of nori (bought from an asian market, it is the seaweed used to wrap sushi) till I realized that my turbo snail was eating the bulk of it. I stopped feeding nori and he began eating the pellets that I feed my fish, which happen to be the very same 1mm pellets pictured above. It is a bit of a task making sure he does not eat flake food, every time the my blenny gets at the flake food he will gorge himself to the point where he will spit up everything. In which then my other fish get his share.

I have a Tailspot Blenny in my 75g. Amazing fish with amazing personality. I don't even think it notices that the other fish in my tank are there. Eats anything I feed.

I just told them to order me one, the one that I was going to get got sold tonight. :(

BUT - it's okay because I got my nem!
