Dosing Iodine for Z/Ps

Considering dosing a little iodine for my z/p frag tank (possibly display as well). Specially because my z/ps are currently both extremely pissed as well as bleached (due to various DT issues).

Thoughts for z/ps? Beneficial? Dosing amount? does carbon suck it up? do you guys test for it?
 
I started dosing one drop of Lugols a day in 50 gal. Much better polyp extension on everything. I'm also testing for iodine everyday as well
 
not to hijack but i was thinkin bout using seachem reef plus which has .18mg per g should i worry bout testing if im only dosing 1 time a week

You don't need to test it. The iodine testing is a pain. I never dose in the SPS tank, only z&p tank when I saw my z&p look sad. One per week (few drops) is fine, if you worry than dose one a month.
