Duncan Tentacles Turning Black

Hey all,
This is my duncan (my one and only coral at this moment). For some reason, a few of the tentacles per head are turning black and getting shorter. I tried looking up information if it is a disease or something but had no luck. This is my first coral and I acclimated it almost 2 weeks ago. I also dipped it before putting it in my tank. The first head started getting black tips on tentacles and now it is slowly spreading. Please let me know what you think!

My params:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 0
Calcium: 450
PH: 8.1
Phosphates: 0
dKH: 14 (but I tested it right when I changed water so I will test again today to see if that lowered)
I don't have a test for Mag but didn't think that would be causing this anyways.
Live stock is 2 occy's and a peppermint shrimp (I'm positive it is a peppermint shrimp and not a Camel)

Oh and salinity is 1.023, Temperature is 80 degrees,and my lighting is a 4x T5 96W. The tank is only 10 gallons and don't worry, I have a 30 gallon for the occy's, its just a temporary home for a week or so
 
What kind of lighting are you using? It could have something to do with the light. It could also be something that it's doing naturally. Of course if it's acting out of the normal or you see it not looking to good it could be something is actually wrong with them. Try dipping it again, maybe it'll go away. Give it a dip according to instructions and put it right back to your tank. No need for super long acclimation.

Haha we sure did. Yea if you are worried about it, give it a dip. It never hurts to do it. It's more beneficial to the coral than anything. Light wise I think you are a o k!
 
Your alk is kinda high...try to lower it down. Also, I noticed my Duncan's don't like to be blasted with light or flow.
 
Yep what Lionel said as well. Try lowering it. Maybe they are getting "burnt" tips by it. But either way the dip won't hurt.
 
Duncans definately don't need bright light. And if I recall correct, they are actually NPS.
+1 on lowering your alk. I would like to see the salinity up to 1.025 - 1.026. Temp 76-78.
 
lol duncans arent nps. they just take to food very well. and alk is sorta high, but whats it been the last month? because if thats the norm for the tank, duncans can pretty much adjust to anything, and in which case you could do more dmg lowering. also are the heads touching the rock at any time with flow or stuff knocking into it? In the wild they are off the rock some in the sand, in deeper waters. they can get irritated pretty easy that route as well. also look at them with the lights out, who knows what may or may not be munching either.

did you recently change the photoperiod. did you move the coral into more or less flow. did you give it more light. soooooooooooooo many things can cause a coral as hardy as duncan to show stress. dip wouldn't hurt either.
