So I have a 180/75 sump setup. A few months ago we had an ich outbreak on the 180 when heat dropped to 70 from 78 due to a heater/top-off problem. All of our fish got ich and we lost some fish that I've had for years as well as about $200 worth that we'd added a few months prior. I moved the remaining fish to a hospital tank and did hypo while the 180 sat fallow for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks I moved them back and things were great for another month so I purchased a few more fish and added them... 3 weeks later we have another ich outbreak although water quality seems to be fine. So this time I am trying a Cupramine treatment in a 55 gallon that I picked up. I had to set the 55 up very quickly and move the fish as some weren't looking good and in the process lost my Kole Tang (he was in the worst shape). I used about 30 gallons of tank water and 15 gallons of new mixed RODI as well as a sponge in an aquaclear from the display hoping to help quickly seed the bio filter of the 55. I'm still having some light ammonia issues (0.02ppm) and was wondering if anyone knows of any ammonia detox that I can add that won't affect the cupramine? I thought about Nite-Out II since it's purely biological.
