I'm planning on upgrading alot of the equipment on my 50 gallon system, and I would like to get your input on it. My goal is to deck out my tank with the best possible equipment. My tank runs pretty well now but I think it could be improved with some upgrades, plus I like new toys!

System info:
•25 gallon display
•15 gallon frag tank
•20 long sump
•SPS dominant and heavily stocked system

Equipment list:
•DT light: Radion XR30W Gen 3 Pro
•Frag light: Radion XR15W Pro
•Lighting Accessories: XR30W MRS, XR15W MRS, Ecotech Reeflink
•DT flow: 2 × MP10wES (have)
•Frag flow: MP10wES (have)
•Controller: Apex Gold, WXM, Apex Dos, EB8, AFS, Advanced leak detection, IO breakout box
•Skimmer: Bubble King Double Cone 130, Vertex Vectra Self Cleaning Head
•Reactors: Synergyreef media reactor or Avast Marine media reactor
•Dosing Containers: Synergyreef custom ATO and dosing container or Dos dosing container and synergy reef ATO container
•Sump: synergy reef SS-34 with a few minor adjustments


Is there anything that I may be overlooking. I'm undecided on whether or not to do a custom all in one ATO and dosing setup or go with the dos dosing container. I like have the container all ready to go and functioning with the apex, but u guess I could always add floats to the synergy custom one and program it into the apex.

Also both the DT and frag tank are 18×18" do I need an XR30W on the DT or would and XR15W work well? I don't want to be limited whatsoever. The DT is 18" deep which is why I was thinking the XR30W over the XR15W. It will be 100% sps tank with corals at varying heights. I want to be able to get good growth on the sand bed.
 
I was originally planning on upgrading to the 80 gallon deep blue rimless and still am eventually. The stand I have my DT and frag tank on is the deep blue stand built for the 80. All of this equipment is directly transferable to the 80 rimless minus the light (either add another radion or get an ATI). I will be moving within the next 2 years. If I upgrade to an 80 I want to start from complete scratch - new rock, new sand, new scape. But 2 years isn't much time to have a tank going.

So, I'm going to upgrade my current setup with equipment that will be equally suited for the 80. When I move I'll sell all livestock, bring the equipment with me and start over with the 80.
 
Then why not get two radion XR30 and just keep them? I think that that will be more practical than buying 3 different lights.
 
I was thinking about that I just didn't know if an XR30 would be overkill on my frag tank. It's 18×18×8". I'm not all that experienced with LEDs and have no experience with radions. I prefer halides but the heat is too much
 
It probably would but Darien made a good point if I went with two XR30W then that'd transition to my future upgrade perfectly. The goal of this is to acquire the best of the best and that everything would work equally well with an 80 deep blue

You could always dim the hell out of the radions. Thats the plus of going overkill on leds, you can dim them.
