Filter socks

I'm buying some more filter socks and noticed there are mesh socks as well as felt.

I've always used felt, send them through the wash with no detergent, run them through the dryer and then they're good to go.

I've never used mesh before and if wondering if anyone can enlighten me to benefits and cons of each. Maybe tell me what you're running?

I threw away the felt socks after trying mesh. With mesh, I just wash it in the sink. No need to save them up and run them through the washer.

I believe brs mentioned the difference in one of their 52 weeks of reefing. Think they said felt was better and they explained why. I'll look around for the video
