has anyone used this is it a pos i would only have it for pods so i can get a mandarin.. and with that would i need a light on there if i did have an algae in it?

I have had one of these. I liked mine. Go with the upgraded pump for the extra $9 or whatever it is. You'll kick yourself if you don't. Lol. I ran a 12 inch led strip over mine to grow algae. Imo, its definately worth it. I found it the cheapest on Amazon.

+1 the stock pump is crap for our needs, but the design is nice because it fails safe (overflow along the whole tankside) if the main output has a huge turbo parked on it. I cut the lid into a rim and keep mangroves in it.
