so yesterday my wife took my four year old son to a drs. appt. it was just a normal check up and he was in for booster shots and vaccines. so after the shots my wife and son left the drs. office. they got in the elevator and while in the elevator my wife noticed that his face looked strange by the time they reached the first floor( roughly 5-6 min after shots were administered) his face was pretty swollen (thank god wife noticed it). so back up the elevator they went by the time they got back to the drs. office(7-8 min after shots were administered) he was having a hard time talking. dr. gave him benadryl right away waited ten min, no effect by this time my son is having a hard time breathing due to throat swelling up. they then gave him an emergency shot to counteract the allergic reaction not sure if it was an epipen or something similar. after that he slowly got back to normal. they had to remain in the office for like 3 more hours so they could keep an eye on him. he has been ok since then but things could have been a lot worse if my wife had not been so attentive. so i guess what im saying is please be careful because its amazing how something routine can turn life threatening in a matter of minutes.( just for reference of what he looked like my wife showed me some pics of him and he looked like he just got done fighting in a ufc fight and lost badly)
 
maybe an albumen alergy? Scary stuff Martin. I have become such a worry wart since having kids. No wonder my parents seemed so up-tight. Thanks for sharing.

not sure what type of allergic reaction it was. i do know that after all this our next step is setting up an appt. with an allergen specialist
 
Im glad he's OK, yeah I am always terrified something like that would happen to my little one, so far no one has allergies, but sometimes you find out at the wrong place. At least you were close to help.
 
Good to hear hes doing ok. My boy seems to get sick (runny nose, etc...) after every visit to the Dr that involves shots. I guess he's just one of those unlucky kids that shows a reaction to the immunization. Sure enough within a day or so hes back at 120% and full steam ahead.
 
You'd be amazed at the horrible things vaccines can do to kids. NO research has been done on a child under 6. All vaccine research has been done on healthy adults, and only 3 vaccine studies have been done on people under the age of 12. You'd also be amazed at what is in vaccines. Thimerosol is a toxic form of mercury that has been linked to the de-mylinezation of nerve cells, leading to alzheimer's and autism.

We don't vaccinate for this and gobs of other reasons. Vaccines are dangerous to young children, and provide little proved immunity. The reaction to heavy metals or formaldehyde is probably what caused the swelling. Or sometimes it's the human serum from chickenpox and MMR that the body tries to reject (yes, MMR, chickenpox and a few others are made from aborted fetuses for their serum).

Sorry to hear about the reaction your son had. I work in an animal hospital and dogs and cats can have reactions to vaccines as well, with dogs it seams like they can get the same reaction your son had and with cats they can get a mild upper respiratory infection and be better in a few days. with the dogs we give benadryl and sometimes have to give an injection of a steroid. We dont see reactions to often thou.

I have also experienced this with my sisters cat. Just to be clear though this was not a mild reaction within 15 min of application my son was having difficulty breathing left untreated this had the possibility of being fatal with in the hour.(dr. Office is in lybertyville I live in Waukegan that's 30 min drive or more depending on traffic) so my wife could have driven home with him and never even noticed since he would have been in his booster seat behind her. Just saying watch your kids closely after they get shots.
 
sorry, I didnt mean to imply that your son had a mild reaction. it was very serious and i am glad your wife noticed before she left the doctors office. i was just stating that not only do you have to watch children but you also have to watch your pets when you take them in for vaccines.

I believe the Doctor/Researcher who initially claimed there was an autism link lost his medical license after it was determined his research was wrong, poorly conducted and irresponsible.

Martin, I'm very glad your son is okay. This is a very scary story!!
 
It's ok I just wanted to clarify the seriousness of the event and I'm sure if it can happen to children it can be just as serious for pets as well. My sisters cat experienced vomiting and grogginess but thankfully It was only a mild reaction.
 
The study was NOT retracted, and it was the doctor who tried to debunk the link who's medical license was revoked for money laundering for pharmaceutical companies who funded his "study." And there has not been a study between vaccines and autism, the study is between heavy metal concentrations and the demylination of nerve endings, which causes autism.

Poal Thorsen, a convicted felon who stole over $2 million in government grants, worked at 3 universities full time concurrently somehow, and made false claims on his resume. This is the man who "debunked" the autism connection, stealing grants and money laundering for the universities and pharmaceutical companies who were very directly paying him to do. He also shifts his resume, lying about employment and also somehow had "full time" status at THREE universities, all receiving funding to work on this project to "debunk" the connection.

Here is an independent research article showing the money connections between his illegal employment and the false bias he made towards trying to debunk the connection. You never heard about it because the pharma companies paid off the government to keep it quiet. Always, always follow the money.

And yes, in order to provide for my family, I am part of a company that sells vaccines. For my clients, I promote them buying direct or promote contracts that get them better pricing for buying direct so that I don't have to be the one providing them, but it's either that or not provide for my family, so I have to sacrifice. Personally, it's worth it.
