Found this on Amazon. Got it. It's got some good features. One of them is that it's $15, shipped, on Amazon Prime. I can see as deep or as near as I want into the tank at 7x magnification. The near focus is only 9". I like it. I need to look closer to perpendicular to the pane of glass I am looking through. If I go about 45 degrees or more off the perpendicular, I get a progressively blurry colorful mess, and I get angry when I can't focus till I remember to play by the rules.

Anybody know of devices to look into the tank?

Here is what I might have gotten if I had a little bit of money: http://www.amazon.com/Pentax-62216-Papilio-8-5x21-Binocular/dp/B0007TSYCK/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1372384539&sr=1-1&keywords=papillio

What is the near focus or the close focus on your rifle scope? This thing focuses clear down to 9". So you can see more than having to stand say 6 feet away or perhaps 20 feet. You can see many more angles and at higher effective size because you're really close.

For a second, I thought this was a cheap alternative to take macro-like shots with a DSLR. Then I see its a telescope to look into the tank lol
