I would say too small for a 180 dominant SPS tank, I think the 618 at minimum.

I was thinking that too. 618 is the min for my tank?

I have a 180 too, ended up getting a great deal on a Aquarium Engineering unit rated at 1,000 gallons, but probably 600-750 for SPS.

I believe the 612 is rated for 350G, which likely puts it at 200-ish for SPS, so it'll do, but you'll be changing out the media more often, etc. better to go bigger if you can swing it.
