GSP and Nutrients

Over the past couple of years my GSP has really started to spread. It seems to me that between water changes I am supplementing more cal/alk/mag.

Is it the GSP using the tanks nutrients? I probably should just get rid of the rocks covered with the stuff, but I like the wave motion.
 
IME, it does, but not meaningfully. In that there is no skeleton built. I have clearly more consumption/battle from coralline algae :(
 
Thanks. I guess I will just get rid of the rock with the biggest (just covered)clump and not worry about it.
