The combination of an ice blue body with blood red corallites makes all the pictures I've taken go blue, washed out, or dark and bland.
This weekend I knocked off a small branch while cleaning, mounted it on a plug, and low and behold I get the first pic showing the cool color contrast.
The blue is a lighter blue to the eye, but this is by far the closest I've been able to capture the colors~

I need to stop using my phone and get a macro lens for my dSLR!
