My name is Alex and i am new here. I have never had a saltwater aquarium before but i am definitely looking to start one up soon...as long as my parents finally cave in and allow me to set one up(I'm 15). Though i have never had a saltwater aquarium before, i do have a 75 gallon freshwater African Cichlid aquarium, so i am not completely new to aquarium keeping. I also breed and take care of many gecko species.

Anyways, just thought i would say hello to everyone. I hope to learn a lot from this site! :)

Have a nice night,

Alex

Well you sound almost like me I just started saltwater tanks in February and or March. Plus I'm 15 too. What size look in to setup

Try to go as big as y time III possibly can. Plusher bigger the tank the easier it is to keep your parameters in check.are you planning to have a reef or a fish only.

i know, bigger is always better. but i don't have the money or room for anything larger than a nano aquarium. and i am for sure going to try a reef with beginner corals and fish/inverts

ill have to wait on a bigger setup for when i have my own place ;)

Alex, Welcome Aboard - There is no doubt this group of reefers will help you in every step of the way. Can't wait to see your thread.

Hello and welcome :)

I thnk i ur reefing on a budget.. U should try to get one of the AIO nano tanks like. Biocube, nuvo, or nanocubes.. Everything u will need to start will be in those tanks.. Plus some reefers or craigslist sells them for cheap.. Believe me im a AIO tank reefer lol

let me know if you know of anyone letting one go for cheap!! :)

reefing on a budget seems very difficult...

well how much money are you willing to spend on your setup

i have 80$ right now and i make about 30$ every 2 weeks

in my opinion, not having all of the necessary funds right now is beneficial so i dont go crazy from waiting to add stuff

I just picked up a 12g bio cube from a member on the site yesterday. Paid $65 for it. If you get the okay from your parents ill sell it to you/them for the same price.

Ill take a few more pictures if you want. From my understanding it was only used a few months. Looks in great condition to me. I have only been in the hobby a few months.
