help cleaning skimmer

My skimmer is in need of a much needed cleaning. Ive heard that I should use vinegar but im not sure how much. Does it matter if I dump a whole bottle in? Would a baby bottle brush be the best thing to scrub it with?

Depends on how nasty it is, 5:1 is a general purpose rule. (5 water:1 WHITE Vinegar) I just dump it in until I think it's good enough. I run the pump overnight sometimes in the solution. Any soft brush will work, bottle brush (as you mentioned) toothbrush (wife's works better if you have one, girlfriend's will work good too) I use a soft bristled basting brush.

Yeah vinegar works well

Just cleaned mine last night. I do the 5:1 ratio as well. Used a long handled algae scrubber that I bought just for cleaning equipment.
