Finally picked up the 6 stage unit off CL for$30. Only problem is I've never had nor even seen one lol. How the hell do I hook this thing up. Obviously one goes to my faucet and the other down the drain. I'm just not sure where the water enters and exits.

Also any recommendations for tds meter?

Recommendations for mounting? Its missing the mounting plate

first things first. new filters. after that, the hose with the threaded adapter goes onto your utility sink or wherever you want it to go. other end goes down the drain, some people use it to fill up their washing machine, water plants, etc. but down the drain is the norm.

Water exits after the DI resin chamber, which is going to have what looks like a million little balls in it. Water goes in at the sediment filter.

Mounting plate, TDS meter, and anything else you'll need get from bulkreefsupply.com

You'll get it quickly and cheap. Get an inline meter too so there's little chance of contamination.

Is there water in the system still? If so, great, cause you gotta keep the membrane wet (top white compartment).
The tds would be great to get to know where you're starting and ending up with; it'll also letcha know if you need new filters, etc.

Thanks for the info, yeah there is still water in the system. Which us the di chamber and which is the sediment?

Apparently the filters areonly 6 months old

Check BRS's videos on ro/di stuff. Helps a bunch even though it may look a bit diff. DI is the one with the little balls. Sediment is prob the one farthest from the membrane.

Alright thanks, ilk check It out tomorrow and attempt to set it up. Does home depot or Menards sell accessories for these?

For mounting you could go to hardware store and get some metal pieces that have wholes that you can screw into a 2x4. Mount the whole unit on 2x4 then screw the 2x4 into the studs in wall.
