no multimeter :-( i think i am going to end up calling them still havnt ordered those 3 i blew myself. after i did blow them i did call and spoke to someone that kinda led me through the wiring a bit and thats how i got them going but still does stuff like this normaly happen?

That :censored: Try to contact Badgus or Fishbeard to help. You might have to drive and get them fixed/build with correct equipment.

Good luck!

Can you stop by me today? What driver are you using?were you going for a parallel string? It might be as simple as the wire not being soldered correctly onto the led itself or maybe one of the leds is reversed polarity? This does happen on occasion.

If Gus can't help, and you want a 3rd pair of eyes to look it over let me know when you can make it out west to stop by. Just give me a heads up so I can bring all the stuff home from work to look it over.

I'd love to go by but both of you are far from me but I'm goin to email bill and see what he has to say. I will be in the medical district at rush next week mon-fri if anyone would like to take a look but I'd rather wait till I get the three LEDs I blew I did do a bit of a sloppy job of soldering but it Is my first time then again.

Here's what you should do to fix it:

Make sure all the leds are solidly epoxied into heatsink.
Make sure all the + and -are where they need to be,sometimes we hook up = to = instead of neg-pos-neg-pos.
Make sure none of the sotter spills over the led,all wires should be solidly sottered onto the area on the led.

Once again, what led driver do you have?

Thanks I have the eln 35 700 I think I might stopby reefer but I'm out there in the mornings only that's the problem

Ok so it's a constant non dimmable driver,it's for sure the way you sottered the wires onto the leds themselves,it's grounding out somewhere. You need to re-wire the leds that don't fire up.

tried rewiring tho made sure they werent grounding out im going to try reversing the wires like you said they might be reverse polarity can i damage them by switching the wire?

No,you just wanna make sure to have everything +-+-+-+- and one end of the led to NEG on driver and opposite led to POS of driver.

Ok that's how I have them and now only two don't turn on

Did you test the single LEDs with a 3v power source? When I got my DIY stuff I was given an AA battery holder with some leads to check each led one at a time.

yeah i actually used
http://www.rapidled.com/servlet/the-167/Moonlight-driver-(350mA)/Detail

to test them and they all worked except for one that flickerd when i wiggled the cable. and three i blew on accident. but once wired the others that did work two didnt turn on rewired and then three didnt then rewired to the way they where before and two didnt turn on

Still sounds like the way its sottered on,if anything don't wire the led that flickered.Do wire the 2 that did work.

The same thing just happened to me!!My whole string went out,ugh i gotta take it apart and see whats wrong.
