So basically long story short, I replaced my main pump and when i tried to replace it the bulkhead came loose i went to screw it back on it would not budge tried everything. I had to cut it off with a dremel. So O replaced the bulkhead and i still got a leak! i took a look closer to see that the acrylic hole might of been chipped! Now I am stuck with a leak! I dont know what to do should I seal off the chamber how would i go about that?

We used JB Weld on leaky bulkheads but we never touched the acrylic with it so that I'm not sure of. Is it small enough of a leak to let salt creep seal it? The other option is to get marine safe caulk and put a bead on the inside of the tank before water can reach the chipped acrylic.

A small chip shouldn't usually cause a leak as the o ring is typically wide enough to still seal.

1st thing I'd do is make sure there rubber gasket is on the right side of the bulk head. I know I've installed it on the wing side before. Goes on the inside of the tank.

If that doesn't work seal the bulk head on the inside and outside of the tank. I've used aquarium sealant before but with glass tanks, not sure how it would work with acrylic.

Ya i thought about it Im also debating on finding acrylic and just sealing the area the tank is temporary so i could just seal the overflow area?

I was thinking the same and with both bulkheads its leaking down the flange side and i checked no cracks!?

Did you make sure that the area is 100% clean as dry before applying the bulkhead. Possibility that maybe there is a small piece of algae etc that's causing a small bubble under the oring? Also made sure there are no small cracks in bulkheads themselves. Doubt it's the bulkhead. But never hurts to check

Kind of hard to tell. Is the oring on the inside or outside of the tank?

I was just about to post. That it looks like the oring is on the outside of the tank.

Inside

I'd inspect the bulkhead. If it has no cracks then either apply a bead to the inside/outside of the ring. Also you say you drained it three times but did you wipe the inside and outside of the over flow?

I agree. It sounds like there is debis istopping it from getting a good seal.

Thanks eceryone for the help! The O ring is on the inside lol im not that much of a Noob. So I had gave up and this morning i turned on the pump to see where it was leaking, and for some reason there was no more leaking. I dont understand but its fixed!

Don't have to be a noob to make a mistake. Lol. Always gotta cover the basics first.

Glad it worked itself out for you.
