How do I get more blue?

Right now I run 250w halides with 14000k bulb. I'm wanting to get more of a blue color. What's the best way to go about it? Should I just move to 20000k bulbs or would leds be able to add some blue to the halide? I tried actinic bulbs pictured below and they did nothing while the halides were on

Here's the tanks now with the 14000k bulb

Based on cost and ease,I would try using a 20K bulb first. I have T5 lighting with Reefbrite xho strips, and they add a little pop to the tank but not really noticeable until the T5s are dimmed. Your halides might drown out the LED effect. Just my opinion.

Yeah I figured I'd have to go the 20000k bulb. You couldn't even tell the actinic bulbs were on when I tried them

what he said.... ;)
not sure if you're using SE or DE lamps but BRS has a good deal on Radium 20K lamps that would look great IMO...from the tanks I've seen running MHs, Radiums are by far the best looking I've seen...

You've seen my frag tank and I run the radium and reef bright leds but when the radium is on can't notice the leds are on.

They are double ended
oh....DE is a bit more difficult as i don't believe Radiums come in DE versions....
I use to run 250W Phoenix 14K DE lamps when I ran MHs and thought they ran more like a 20K...
I've also heard Reeflux 20K and Ushio 20K DE lamps look good too but have no personal experience with either....maybe someone who ran either of them can chime in...

Yeah but since I need new bulbs anyway I'll probably just try the 20000k. Then if I don't like it I'll do the 14000k with leds

Stupid question time how much different are these bulb for like $20 compared to these $60 bulbs?
Mackch did you notice the blue from the leds with the halides on

I have a 14k de Phoenix bulb if you want to try it and see what you think it has 6 months of use and I'll pay it forward to
