How do you reduce return pump vibration?

EricTheRed

No, I'm not a communist..
I have a Mag drive 12 return pump that tends to vibrate (make noise) when it sits on the bottom of my sump. I used to keep a sponge under there but it eventually became a detritus trap. I'd like to get something under there to dampen the noise, any suggestions?

Thanks, Ted. I emailed BRS this morning and asked if they carried replacement pads that came with the Mag Drives. They replied that I would need to contact the maufactorer and "most people will just use a silicone pad of some sort as a vibration dampener." He even sent me a link to the manufacturer but neglected to tell me that they carry silicone pads, only saying "pad of some sort", lol. I wonder if he knew they carried them ?!

Thanks!

Any way to lift the pump up using your plumbing? Before I switched my mag 12 out for a Quiet One 3000, i was able to reduce the noise by using a PVC clamp and bolting it to my stand which lifted the pump off the bottom of the sump. Not sure how your pump is rigged but its easier if its all solid PVC and not flex.
