Hydrometer broke in water change barrel.

I have A 55g drum for water changes. I use a glass hydrometer to double check my refractometer and it appears during filling and mixing the pump thrust it to the bottom and it cracked. For years it's been fine now it's broken. The weight at the bottom I presume is lead... Can I still use this water or is it now toast because of the lead in the water. I just pulled 5 gallons from my tank so now I'm in a bind. Need to get water flow going again fast.

That's a toss up. Not sure how much would leach into the water, even still I'd have to argue with myself that the small risk still isn't worth the chance to an established reef.
