I need tips for a Predator Tank equipment

I'm going to be setting up a tank with Invert eating fishes. so clean up crew will be at a minimum, or probably non existant, except for worms hiding within rocks and sand. I just want to get tips on what I need to successfully run a predator tank. I'm sure a powerful skimmer is a must. I'm not a big fan of UV filter, but is that a must with no clean up crew? Any other equipment needed?
 
It's hard without a CUC and lots of liverock,i can't take it anymore with coral inserts.You need a denitrator/UV/strong skimmer and frequent water changes.

It's going to be a 180 Jeni. So you are advising against mixing puffer with triggers (I was thinking the 2 least agressive triggers--bluejaw and niger), and harlequin tusk? I almost feel like the tangs get more agressive than those fishes though, the tangs get intimidating swimming around so much. What if I introduce the puffer first?
 
In a 180, I wouldn't go with more than 3 of those choices. Preds need lots of room to establish territories, keep away from each other & produce a very high bioload. When keeping a puffer,k keep it with much smaller, less-aggressive fish. Let them be the centerpiece of the tank. They are so personable--they're worth it!
 
Plenty of people successfully keep puffers with triggers, tusks, and other aggressive fish for many years with no problems. Do some additional research around the web.
