I remember when Gas was .89 a gallon and my dad was able to fill up with $10.00 that would give you a full tank of gas- I also remember when you could get a 1/2 tank of gas for $5. Dang I am old....LOL But still young at heart... :) :washing:
 
I remember cutting grass as a kid and taking the 2 gallon gas can, put it in the basket on my bike and filling it for 50 cents.

I also remember as a teenager, driving my Honda 350, driving all day till I hit reserve (about 150 miles if memory serves), giving the service station attendant (who also pumped the gas) a dollar and got change back.
 
I remember when gas hit an all time high... We were heading to northwoods Wisconsin for a fishing trip, went to fill the nearly empty tank, and the pump shut off when we hit the $100 transaction limit... And the tank wasnt even close to full.
 
Not to run everyone off topic, but Fishbeard, were you by chance heading up to the Flambeu chain?

Nope, we go straight up 51 to a little town called Tomahawk, it's halfway between Wausau and Rhinelander (home of foster and smith)...
 
I worked Summers in Eagle River for 5 years and spent summers there for 6 years prior to that! Love the North Woods.

Eagle River, home of the pizza parlor with the magic neverending deep dish... Take a slice, turn away for a few seconds, look back, and voila!, you once again have a whole pizza! Heck if you ask me what the name of the place is, but I will never forget that dang pizza...
 
I love how bad the news station is. They were talking about Obama visiting Chicago,and the picture they were showing was of a tornado.
