Issue with Ocellaris Clown

I would put him in a qt, and treat with maracyn 2. Since you don't have a qt, you can try Melafix. Definately won't hurt, but it is a weak antibiotic.

I put melafix in. The recommended dose was 10ml for 20 gallons so I put in 6ml. Hopefully that helps and it doesn't get much worse

I checked on him today before work, his condition is getting worse and being very lethargic now and not eating. I don't think he will make it to the time I get back home from work or through the night. So far none of my other fish haven't shown any signs or symptoms of this on them. Would you guys be worried about them or think that some how it's only affecting the one clown?

That sucks id definitly worry about other fish since u really dont know what it is that he has .

I think it would be either a parasite, or some kind of infection. Both can cause these symptoms I believe, and yeah, I'd be worried about the other fishies. Gl!

Thanks for the help guys, I came home and found him belly up. All his scales were gone on that one side of him. Since the other fish seem fine, I'm assuming there was some sort of injury there and it got infected. Just wish I could have done more for the guy to help.

I've got more bad news guys, it wasn't just an isolated case. I just lost my firefish and now my other clown is showing the same symptoms as the other. It looks like I'm going to lose all my fish. When that does happen what should I do? Should I treat it like ich and let the tank sit fallow for 3-6 weeks? Or just do a massive water change? All my coral is doing amazing so I don't want to break down the tank unless I have to.

I would go fallow for 3-4 months, not weeks. I would also pull all fish and treat with paraguard since it has methylene blue as a key component. Sorry to hear about your losses, I'm going through something similar right now, coral looks amazing, fish not so much.

I have quick cure, would that help in a qt tank for this? Regardless the fish will die if I don't do anything at all because my other one did.

Paraguard is by seachem and treats a very broad range of marine diseases and parasites. If I only kept one fish medication around it would be paraguard.

So I picked some em erythromycin up on my way into work and I'll throw that in when I get home. So hopefully this might help
