The following is my personal experience with using this doser. If you have other opinions, I encourage you to write a review.
Purchase: Bought this along with other stuff during the Jebao GB from last summer.
Time in use: 6+ months
Like many of you, the idea of spending $300-$500 on a doser seemed absolutely ridiculous to me and when I saw this deal, I was excited and jumped on it.
Let's start with the positives:
-Price. For around a hundred bucks, this seems like steal.
-4 pumps. Sweet! I can dose 2-part and other supplements.
-Did I mention price?
Now the juicy part y'all are waiting for
-My absolute biggest grip with this unit is that it's not accurate! It's precise but just not accurate. So when I initially set this up I used a graduated cylinder to calibrate it. I spent the better part of 2-3 hours trying to calibrate this. However, it would always output more than what I expected. The good part is that it was consistently wrong (precision but not accurate). hahaha
-Build quality. cheap plastic box but then again I think I paid under $100.
-Value. It's low price but shitty value if you can't get it to work as expected.
From this experience I've learned to not skimp on dosing equipment as the risk it presents to your livestock is high. I'm thinking of switching to BRS units but am currently transitioning to a new tank so continuing to use the Jebao for now.
Overall, if you're planning on using this for 2-part, look elsewhere and spend a little more. If you're using for dosing supplements where accuracy isn't critical then go for it!
