Kalk Reactor: Yes or No??

Do you have a Kalk Reactor? Why or why not? I am just trying to weigh in on if I should be using mine or not. I have one that has been in the box for 6 months...I know I know... Anyways, corals look great without it and levels are pretty much perfect. What do you guys think? Should I have this set up? I have this fear if everything is already great I am afraid to change something and rock the boat...

Looking for advice! Thanks Guys!

I have run a kalkwasser reactor for 4 years. It has worked well for me. I have used it for the ease of not having to mix kalk separately. Dosing saturated kalk through a pump trashes a lot of pumps.

If you have the pump placed behind a pressurized kalk reactor will avoid killing it. Pretty much it pushes in fresh RO and kalk out. etc.

I have gone with kalk in my ato and with a kalk reactor. I always struggled with keeping everything balanced, so I ended up switching to dosing two part. I have been dosing two part for over two years now. Dosing comes with it's own pros and cons as well. IMO go with whatever you are comfortable with.

I'd say if your parameters are looking good dont mess with it. How big is your tank? You might have enough with simple regular water changes

In regards to using it or not you can go with the old saying if its not broke don't fix it.

That's kind of what I have been thinking...since everything is good I am real hesitant to change it. I think a lot of you confirmed what I was already thinking. We have a 210 and do a 50 gallon water change every 2 weeks.

Thanks to everyone for your advice and thoughts on the matter!
