Kent nano reef

Ok a newbie question here.... My brother gave me his 29 bio cube all set up basically ready to go. He gave me some bottles of kent nano reef supplements and told me to does once a week. But the bottles say once a day.. I'm a little confused bc I trust my brother he is well seasoned in the art of keeping salt/reef tanks. So how often should I dose the tank with these supplements?

I would dose based on what you need is common practice. Waterchanges are best dosing method in a nano. I dose only calcium, but add phytoplacton. If u dose too much cal it will cause a "snow storm" effect. Not good; get a few test kits. Otherwise I really love "fuel" by seachem.

Think I met you at reef city aquatics and referred you to this forum?? if so welcome if not welcome anyways.

If you have a few corals in there, there's no need to dose...water changes will do the job of replacing everything for you. Butt if you have multiple corals, including a few sps's, then you could dose supplements...but only what you need. Your brother was probably dosing because he had an established tank with corals in it.

I get that snow storm effect when I add part B every time. I thought that was normal but it goes away very quickly.

Mr. Z yes you did meet me at reef city...thank you for sending me to this site everyone is sooo helpful. And thanks everyone for the advice I will test my water and see exactly what I need. I don't have much coral in there only a frog spawn, kanya tree, a duncan ***, a very small bam bam ***, and a small leather, and a couple of mushrooms.

How often should I do water changes? I'm from fresh water so I would change my fresh water out like once a month. I've owned the tank for little over a month now and have done one water change. But if I have 2 I will do them more often.

Here is a couple of pics u asked for!
