Kessil VS AI?

So I carry both the Kessil and AI fixtures. Wanted to get opinions from personal experiences.

4x A150
2xA350W
2x Sol
2x Vega

Those are my options. Have been leaning towards the kessils just for the clean open look.

But controllability def goes to AI.

Thoughts? Going on a 48x24x30 reef

The a360s are controllable. I'm debating this myself. The Kessils look very clean over a tank. I'm concerned that because there is only the single light source there is a higher chance of unwanted dead spots in the tank

Aqua Illuminations Sol Blues! For me it's all about even spread and set and forget controllability. Plus I am even thinking about upgrading to the vega, but I am going to wait a while to let the price drop and long term results come in.

That is hard to say, I have a Kessil A350w over 27 cube and the sps is happy. I also have a Maxspec Razer over my 40B Everything does well in my 40B. Then I have a Chinese 2040 from the group buy over my frag tank and get nice growth. I think it is system stability that is key, all the newer leds do a good job.

But I have never used AI so I think you should loan me yours for a year or so to evaluate.

I say 3 x Sol for sure with hanging kit... Why mess with Kessil?!

Have seen AI Blues in action and seen SPS colonies grow in a members tank..

I'd only need 2 sols. At 30" I'd still have just over 300par anywhere at the bottom of the tank. No sps in the tank either.

Kessils are dope. I have a 350 and am way into it. Only knock I have on it is that you get some spotlight effect with just one, but with two its a different story. Don't get me started on the 360s. They are even sweeter, being able to set the color to your liking with one dial then ramp up intensity with the other.

In the end, all of those are good lights, and you'll find proponents of each. Go with your gut.

I run a lot of AI sol blues and have since they came out, love them. Love the others too though. My bedroom 90 are all frags grown under AI Sol blue and they have been chopped up and moved a few times. When I started though there were not nearly as many options, but I still by AIs.

I have a Kessil 350W on a 60 cube, and it is beautiful. Sleek, shimmer, and just enough lighting for my lps and zoos. The sols are too cold blue for my eyes, so I would vote Vega if you want to go that route. With the new ability to do power pucks, they seem to be a great choice.

it sure would be enough for your sps also if you decide to go that route ... and you can grow zoas on sand bed with out a problem ..

I figured one of them would have more cons. But it's nothing but positive reviews. Glad to be carrying such reliable products.

That's just it, they're all good. Power pucks just came out too, which makes Vegas even nicer, but I wish you could preload them with the LEDs of your choosing, instead of buying the fixture with their setup, and then customizing, but I'm just being nit-picky. The Kessils look very clean, nice for a very minimalist-modern look. I'd just tailor it to the tank/room and see what looks best over it.... The light from any of those fixtures will treat your tank well.
