just bought a used KNOP C reactor.has anyone dealt with these units. There is still water in the bubble counter. Should I change the water and what should I put in there. What media do you recommend using. Have an idea how to run it but if anybody has 2 cents to put in I'd be more than happy to hear it. Kind of excited to not have to dose once I get this thing going
 
I and one a long time ago. Id change out the water in the bubble counter, just to be safe. I always used fresh water in the bubble counter, but it probably doesn't matter. I used ARM media with good results. As the media dissolves the bottom sponge gets clogged up so I cleaned it often. I had best results when a small pocket of CO2 built up under the lower pad. Not enough to break the flow, but just enough to keep a high level of CO2 in the chamber. I always checked the effluent pH with a meter to be sure it was low enough to melt the media, but not too low. Hope that helps a bit.
 
Thanks. The more input the better. Sure ill have it dialed in in a few months or so. Just be nice to have some insight to what's to come.
