Led prices?

So I'm needing to replace my bulbs soon. If I go with pheonix de mh they would be around $60 each. If I replace all 4 pc bulbs at around $25 each I'd be around $220 or more. Plus half my blue LEDs don't work and that can be anywhere from $10-$25ish depending on what I do. So close to $230-$250 to replace and repair this unit. Are there any led units that are 48" long that would do what I would want/need?

What do you want /need whats your price range need to be a bit more specific bud i vote you contact prestige led as long as know what your requirements for the light is gus will answer all your questions and get you the best fit product at least that was my experience with him

I've been in touch with him and he is explain to me what to expect if I want to go in that direction and from the sounds of it I think it's something that's going to have to wait for me.

You could try out a pair of those eBay lights, the 120w ones with dimmers and moonlights. They work great for a good majority of people and you can get 2 for under $400 shipped, will be more than enough light for a 48" wide tank.

Im useing those ebay dimable and love em on my sps 75 gal work great set at 100% blue on and 40% white on and still have more par than ati t5s

Do you like them? Is it worth the money in the long run or no?

As of right now i love em cant really tell difference from my ati bulbs in color which i loved. Well except now i have shimmer lol. Corals r brighter now though because of the royal blues im guessing still new only about week in half old so hopefully keeps going positive. So right now was definitly worth it. i figured at 192. each fixture and two fixtures little under 400$ so not a huge investment. now i had 8t5 bulbs replaced yearly cost around 200$ a year . leds last seven years or supossed to if they do thats thats 1000$ savings in bulbs ( i subtracted the 400 in replacement cost for the led. thats best case senerio not to mention cutting watts in half so electric bill savings. worst case senerio they have two year warranty so really nothing to lose since the cost of t5 bulbs would be the same for two years as the leds. so i saw it as a opportunity to try em with out anything to lose. but use par meter im only set at 100% blue and 40% white and have same par as my t5s so dont want to start full blast and i like the look at the 100% blue and 40% white look so gonna leave it

Could someone post a link or picture of these eBay lights. Looked and there are a bunch of those 120w ones. Are they 1 watt LEDs? Would love to know more info on these if anyone could help me out. Thanks a bunch!

moons and timer are both killer.

don't get too hung up on the wattage of the LED's. as people are putting other products on their tanks, the standard "need 3watters" is kinda going by the wayside, think about it this way, they have to dim them sometimes to only 40%....how much of the total are you actually using?

the GU10 builds are perfect example of it, those bulbs are designed for lighting homes, not reefs, and people have clam growth.

And would these LEDs be able to plug into my rkl or do they have their own timer and it be pointless to plug into rkl?

Mine r 3w bulbs but only powered for 2w so they say. And u right my whites r only powered to about 40% on both fixtures and blues r 100% and i get the par readingings i need any more and probably burn the corals. People really under estimate the power of led when diy and end up with way to many bulbs with both fixtures im still half the wattage of my t5 and still dont have them on 100%
