Lighting Advice

I want to upgrade the lighting on my 125 and I can use some advice. I want enough light to be able to keep any type of coral that I want. Tank dimensions are 72x18x24. I think that I'm gonna stick with metal halide but I was wondering if I should go with 3 x 250 watt or 2 x 4oo watt. I thought about t5s also but I don't know if I wanna deal with all those bulbs.

Any input on where I should buy either one would also be great.

Does your 125g have two center braces? It will be hard to light the whole tank with two MH reflectors and at the depth of your tank 400w arent necessary. 3 x 250w will light your tank or I would go with 6 60" t5 bulbs. The 6" on the ends of your tank will be lit fine. The bulb replacement cost is lower on 6 t5 bulbs then 3 radiums and will be 480w watts compared to 750W-800w of MH. Which ever you choose MH or t5 get good high quality reflectors.

The tank doesn't have any center braces. Any advice where I can get a quality t5 fixture for a decent price?

I'm kinda on the same page. Upgrading a 150g 48x24x30"tall.

Was also thinking 2x400w. Could I get away with 2 250w and 4x54wT5? Or 8x54w T5?

I have 2 250 watt halides over the tank now and it's just not cutting it. My other issue is that they are de and I'm thinking that I would be better off with the mogul base.

I have three over my 210 tried two 400 & just didn't light the whole 6ft so of halides I'd do 3 can't comment on t5 cause I haven't tried them on the tank but used 8 bulbs when I had a 75 gallon
