Live Aquaria recent orders

So I placed an order a week ago for a blk fin McCoskers & a AQ Cultured orange green Goniporo
Order arrived in 2 shipments, first was fish, my son heard the UPS driver drop the box on the porch.. probably from waist high.( Not L.A's fault)
There was a heat pack or actually it was a cold pack since it was ice cold & had no heat ( should have put a couple IMO coming from California to East coast. Wrasse died 2 days later.
I've ordered frags from LA b4 & the packaging was great, until now.
It was like rock in a a bag, the frag was not secured & had been tumbled / bounced enough to where the coral flesh started to peel from skeloton.
Called C.S Got replacement's sent no problem.
Replacements arrived today.
Fish, DOA, ice cold heat pak,/ container , I IR the heat pak, it was 65.3 colder than the inside of the shipping box ( 66.7)
Coral placed same way in the bag s last time, no heat pak & temp reads 66.2 in the box.
Hard to tell if the coral is going to make it , but there are visible spots of damage.
I'm not sure if it's all related to the Petco buy out, but I will probably never be buying anything from them again.
I hope others are having better experiences

I bought a cleaner pack from them a month ago or so and everything was fine but I was disappointed with how they packaged everything as well.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I haven't ordered in a few months but there were only minor issues with my order. Their CS dept handled it to my satisfaction.

WOW have never had a problem with them and have a buddy who ordered 3 fish a month ago and there doing great and i was getting ready to order a French Angel & Achilles Tang

ill approach this from a different angle..

1. if the spent pack is rock hard then its a heat pack .. normally they use a 40 hour heat pack and it only gets wasted sooner if it gets into contact with water ..
2. they cant use more than one if the box is not large enough as it would spike the teperature which is more harmful for fish ..yes they prefer 70 over 85 .. but 65 is kinda low ...
3. if you ordered from live aquaria ( and not Diversden) then chances are they just got in that fish or it may be in a bad state .. they dont observe qt or treat liveaquaria fish ..
4. about the coral you are probably right about packing but it would die sooner cause of the temp than bouncing around ..

all in all the conditions may have very well been caused by UPS as much as LA :)

i think Diversden is still one of the good places to order from... i ordered some cucs about 2-3 months ago so might have changed and also i choose to pick up from the location than delivered to home cause that would decrease the time they are riding in the back of a truck in cold weather and one more guy dropping them off from waist height :)

just my 2 cents

Customer Service has been great so far, still working out the credit .
I have until Fri to see if the Goni makes any recovery.
Fingers crossed it does
Tinman: the fish was from LA the coral was from DD

Similar experience here as well, pretty much all big sellers. I buy local only or from stores within 1 adjacent state that ship w/in 3-4 hrs. Also, the captive bred or Divers Den fish were always clearly healthier and sturdier fish. Captive bred fish show better, less shy...
