mag 12 pump issues

Has anyone ever experienced their mag 12 pump not starting back up from power loss? I mean it starts up but not to how it should run. If I lift the pump a bit so that it sucks in some air then it is able to go full throttle...the pump was bought new and is only like 5 months old. It has not been dropped or mishandled. The pump is used for PM bullet 1 skimmer
 
Did you check the impeller? I've had impellers enlarge and crack after I shut it off to do maintenance.

But you probably just need to clean the impeller and the pump after you take the impeller out to clean

it. Sometimes all they need is a good cleaning.
