Mag 5 will not restart?

I have a mag 5 running two reactors one with carbon one with gfo. When turn the pump off to change out media it will not restart unless I lift it out of the water to get suction. I have a mag 9 for my return and it starts every time with out a problem.

have you tried opening it up and checking inside? maybe you need to clean it out.

I had that problem and the face of it cracked where the intake is and it got the impeller stuck do you feel any type of vibration when powered up

I cleaned it and everything seamed to be ok. This thing is brand new I have only used it for 2 weeks. I no it has enough power to push through two reactors because I used it too do a water change and it pumped the water almost 30' from my garage with no problem.
