Mandarin fish missing

Hello all, I have a 125 gallon saltwater aquarium that has been setup for about 1.5 years. I have a refugium. I just bought a mandarin goby this weekend, on Saturday. After acclimation, he was chilling out nicely under a rock underpass. My tank doesn't have that much rock. I have chosen to have a basic aquascape. Sunday morning I can't find him at all. I checked the sump, overflows, the floor, everywhere. I have glass lids covering the entire top. He is nowhere to be found. I lifted some rock and he wasn't anywhere. Maybe he is in some crevice but I just don't see him. Do they hide? Any thoughts? I have mainly tangs in this tank. yellow tang, fox face, fowleri tang, naso tang, and 2 clowns. all incredibly peaceful.
thanks!
Steve

Do you have any large or agressive clean up crew? Or possibly an euclid worm hiding in the rock? If not, I'd just give it a little more time before giving up hope.

I have a shy mandarin and it comes out only occasionally. I have a 75G and there are times I don't see him for a week or more. Hopefully yours is just hiding out for now. GL
