Maxspect Mazarra P-Series Issues.....AGAIN. UGH!!!!

This morning, while I was on my chaise admiring my tank I noticed that my A-Channel of LEDS were out AGAIN. Upon further inspection I noticed it was not on the module that was previously sent back for the same issue, but this time it was for the unit I just purchased a month or so ago. I love these lights.....but BABY.....these issues are working my last gay nerve!!

I've heard nothing but complaints about the maxspects... When I was researching my lights, everyone said they were terrible to set up, terrible to get working right, and terrible customer service/workable. No one complained about the lights/coloration, but that the time to keep them working right, and all the issues to get them working right made them not worth it...

Sorry, you probably know this from experience Walt, but I just wanted you to know you're not alone, lol.

Yeah, I know. Since CoralVue took over it's been much better but these issues and the costs to me sending back the units for repairs has cost me enough. And the stress from worrying about my SPS and the stress on THEM has mee peeved. I love Chris, and he has taken care of me, but with all the shipping fees in the short months I have had them...I could have bought another module.

The controller is easy to use once you understand it and get used to it. I can set them up with my eyes closed. I absolutely love the customizability of the setup, which is the reason I chose them along with the full-spectrum LEDS the units have. My only issue is with these channels going out for no reason. I'm so exhausted and I don't have any time to deal with taking the set-up down and tinkering with them. It's father's day and I need to head to the South Burbs to grill, bike with my nephew and visit Reef City. Time is a premium for me.
 
Time is a premium for anyone. Maxspect shouldn't be charging you shipping for a s#itty product. I'd get that back if I were you. And since you sell financial products, something tells me you know how to get your money back ;)
 
Dam those lights have been nothing but a PITA. Any lemon laws protect you? Another reason not to buy Chinese electronics.
 
I have found the culprit of the short. There's a solderpoint on one of the LEDs that has lost contact. I am not buying a soldering gun so CoralVue will have to fix this.

i have a basic soldergun and the solder you can borrow to fix it.. but again something of that value lol id let the pros do it ..
 
CoralVue has still been unresponsive since I've posted both videos and Live Aquaria will now be sending me a new unit. They are also covering the shipping for the return of the busted unit.

I've been quite patient with Chris and CoralVue and it seems that they always drop the ball. They are just as bad as the old US distributor. :triniti:

:sad: Sorry Walt, I know how much you love these lights and want them to work for you. Typical excellent customer service from Foster and Smith taking care of their customers even when it's not directly their problem to fix. Good to know someone is taking care of our local celebrity!

Thanks George. I'm glad I bought that last module from DFS. I love the lights and they work well for my application. With me having already gone in deep with these lights, I can't really scrap the plans and start out new with another set without spending another grip. It's like being stuck between a rock and a hard man. :banghead:

Just keep on keepin on... You definitely hands down have the sickest looking lighting setup in the area, even if you are having issues with them.
