meleagris wrasse

Was told it was eating mysis so I tried mysis, brine shrimp, marine cuisine, pellets, flakes, and blood worms. Not interested in any of it.
 
Leopards are kinda hard to keep... What store did u get it from? I got mine at RW and took a few days before it FINALLY started eating mysis shrimp. Now it loves it. I'm feeding it twice a day to fatten it up again.
 
Try brine.. I picked up mine on Friday and its been slowly eating frozen brine and mysis.. My melanarus wrasse is also helping since they are swimming together all the time
 
I tried brine, no luck. Just doesn't seem interested in food at all. I have my a few other wrasses eating in front of it to encourage but nothing yet.
 
try smaller foods like rods 1st. See if it works. I noticed mine only eats small pieces of mysis and rods. there's always some random big mysis pieces and it never touches those
 
I I feed my fish small pieces because I have a few fish that can only eat the small size stuff. Still nothing from it. It's actually pretty skittish compared to the solar that I got with it. The solar is in front of the tank darting at food when I feed them. Meleagris doesn't even bother with any of the food floating past it.
 
Hmm... how many days has it been since you got it? Mine took a few days to warm up to it... mine got SUPER skinny before it started eating. I was scared i was gonna lose it.

All leopards are usually picky eaters.. Unless u get them eating prepared foods, most will want pods only... That's why they always say they are "difficult" or "expert" fish. If your tank is established and has lots of pods... It may be eating and you don't know..
 
Is it possible to catch the fish? Vitamin B12 will also help to stimulate fish feeding. I put some in every time I get a new fish during acclimation. Seems to work every time. No bad effects.
Also, Aqua tech, Makers of Azox and Phyto are close to releasing a new product called S.E.L.C.O Boost that is suposed to get finicky eaters going. I just received some for trial.
FWIW, the AZOX does a heck of a job for feeding as well. Some of the foods are so small that I can't see them, but the fish sure do. The clowns, tangs, wrasses, Royal Grammas all go nuts for it as soon as it hits the water. I see their little mouths just munching away on it.
In addition, I get great coral polyp extension within a few minutes. I'm a HUGE fan of the Azox!!!!!
 
I have plenty of pods and with a mandarin also feeding on them. I don't see the meleagris picking on rocks. The thing is, i was told it was eating which is why I picked it up. Could transferring from tanks stop the wrasse from eating?

I thnk u should have seen them eat b4 taking them.. .. Mine wasnt eating frozen when i got it so thats why i've been patient and taking time to try and train mine to eat frozen/flakes

yup, I should have asked. I usually do when buying fish but was in a hurry so just took their word.
