Mini Snails Friend Or Foe

Ok so i looked in my dads tank today and i saw about six mini snails. Are they going to harm anything or should i just leave them be?

Look up sundial snail . If they are not sundials you should be fine. Sundials are hitch hikers that eat zoos.(Bad)

well would they just pop up he hasnt added any corals recently the last coral he added was like 3 weeks ago

Yes thats why they call them hitch hikers. They hide on corals and rocks. Then all of a sudden you see them. Sometimes not for a long time.(months) Don't panic even if they are Sundials and I cant say they are from that pic. they are easy to pick out and get rid of.

If you don't notice coral problems then your ok. Most snails are not a problem.Some do reproduce in the tank.

They are Collonista Snails. Beneficial snails, very easy to tell from the photo you provided.
