MP-40 "Popping"

I'm gonna throw the beast in the QT tank and see if it's popping. If not then its debris or something in the 55. Thanks Ben for this monumental idea

All right, I just came up with the plan of moving the MP40 to a different tank with nothing in it and trying it their. MP40, you're being quarantined!

EDIT

Hey, you beat me! I think that between everyone here, we should have thought of this idea yesterday!

I heard a dog walking!

Its not debris at all. It sounds like the impeller is hitting something randomly. Can you verify that it spins freely? Otherwise I would say its a bearing/washer/driveshaft issue. Those can be replaced here:

I would call echotech on Monday, send them the video link and they may pinpoint exactly what it is and what you need to get to fix it.

Fantastic. Just another **** problem

sounds like this mp40 was worse than mine ;) What a weird sound... sounds like i'm taking a pen and just tapping the glass

If u do end up ordering parts, lmk. I wouldn't mind ordering parts i need as well to rebuild my wetside. We can split shipping that way

i'm not 100% sure... i just used my fingers and a screwdriver and got it as tight as possible... cuz when i used a wrench, it kept popping to a looser tightness, so i just used my fingers and made it as tight as possible

I HAVE DONE IT NO MORE POPPING WOOO YEAAAAA THE NUT WAS TOO TIGHT ON IT I FIXED IT I HAD HER RUNNING AT 100% for a full minute and no popping yes!!!!!!!!

I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped and everyone who responded so quickly. Mp-40s are nothing to be messed with :)

So I'm even more glad that you figured out that this MP40 is a "her". Find her a "him" MP40 and we're in business!
