MP10W On rimless tank

Putting my mp10s on my rimless tank, the setup calls for using the included stickies to attach the cable to the aquarium lining above the MP10. Because I dont want to stick that crap onto my rimless tank I was wondering if this is absolutely necessary. From what I gather its because a snail might jam the wet side which will cause the dry side to drop and break. Other than that will not doing this cause any issues?

YES! absolute needed. I also have a rimless and almost didn't use the stickers cause i wanted a very clean look. Thankfully i did because i can home about a week ago and saw the dry side dangling with the wet side at the bottom. Dont know how it happened but if it wasn't secured, i would be buying a new dryside. also how thick is your glass?

My tank is 3/8" so it is at the exact 0.375 Maximum.

What i would do is get painters tape and cut it to the size of the sticky hanger. Stick the painters tape to the glass and then stick the hanger to the tape. This way u get not crappy residue if u ever have to take it off. It comes off with a little effort but i hate dealing with old adhesive lol

Trust me ... Do it. If u don't... Sometimes the mp10 spins so fast it knocks the dry side off the tank and falls on the floor. Happened to me but luckily I had carpet there to stop the fall. I have all rimless tanks... And it's absolutely worth it

i actually glued the cable in place along my top frame with a little CA (after being really sure on placement). If it falls it will probably tear that away but it will slow the fall enough. I don't mind the sticky brackets outside the tank, i just wish they used black tape because the white from the inside is annoying.

Ive been using mp40s for many years. Never used the sticky tab, never fell off. Personally, I couldn't live with the sticky tab look. I place the cable the most unnoticeable way.

I had the wet side go bad on an MP40, if it wasn't for the sticky tab, it likley would have fell to the floor, which is concrete and blammo. If you dont use them, mkae sure you set it up so it can't fall to the ground, like attaching the cable somewhere else that looks better, but has the same effect
