The purple+ bulb isn't actually all that purple thou, i don't think swapping that out would make that much a difference, except losing colors in the red/orange/pink corals. I think you are giving up too much of those color spectrums swapping the purple out with a different bulb. Stick with it Joe, you'll learn to appreciate the color it adds to your tank.

Let's say the best combo for SPS?

i have 3 blue +, 2 aquablue special, and 1 fiji purple

SHOULD I KEEP THE PURPLE IN THE MIDDLE then?

I would put the purple in the middle personally, what types of corals are you keeping? that would help answer if there is a better bulb combo.

If you are going for sps growth, replace one of the AB with a 65k bulb.

Yep 6500k for growth. And drop the purple. I would drop a ab for a blue plus.I gget awesome growth with 4 blueplus plus and 2 coral plus.

This is only a month and a half difference. And I keeping color.
