My DIY water change

No, I am, for over a year now :) My wife loves the tank too, other than all the issues I had (long story...), and she's an enabler. I am debating on getting a hard tubing for the drain side.... Anyway, she'd rather this than me continuously dumping buckets of water in the house. There's far less spillage this way. And when we buy a house next year, she said if possible I could have a fish room :)

Umm... I am going to guess that you are not married... LOLz...

I am pretty sure not to many single guys would have a "Live Laugh Love" Nick Nack on their counter either!! Then again I've been with my wife so long, I forgot what is was like being single.

Hey Ben have you ever thought of plumbing the new SW into the sump instead of the display tank that way you wouldn't have all that unsightly plumbing. You could still drain from the DT. Just an idea. That's the way I do mine so that I can clean out all the detrius in the sump and pull the sock filter with out haveing the water in the way.

Oh and by the way tank is looking good!

Yeah, when we first moved in, I couldn't display my WW2 knife/swords, my Transformers collection (worth roughyl 2k now), and I didn't have a single picture frame. Then I moved in with a photographer, and BAM, we have like 2 million pictures EVERYWHERE!!! I like it though :)

Thanks! Because the water in/out ratio isn't the same, it would overflow my sump pretty darn quick, lol. And I keep everything in the garage in between changes, so it's not out all the time. I shouldn't have made it so tall, I will probably cut it down some, but I made that before I built my canopy, and wasn't sure how tall my DIY canpoy was going to be lol.

I use a JBJ ATO and i just had a thought that I could unplug the RODI pump and plug in the pump on the saltwater reservoir and let the ATO do the work while I siphoned to the drain. When complete plug the RODI pump back in. FYI a koralia 750 uses 3 watts and will mix the heck out of a brute can. I age my saltwater for at least 5 days before use so it is always full and running a Koralia. Nice setup though no lugging buckets around. I am starting to grow muscles from all this work. My setup currently uses all gravity for the water change.
