My New Frogfish!

. I'm very tempted lol I gotta do some research though so I knw more bout this awesome fish... So is this fish seasonal only?

Thanks Eric! Jeff, they are available year round but not as often and not in the numbers I have been seeing on the stock lists lately. We should be able to find you one down the road no problem though.

I do have an empty 14g biocube once my new fish clears QT next weekend, can you pm me with the smaller breeds you can order and prices for them?

I'll have to take a look at the stocklists but I would be happy to check it out for you! The ones we have access to will grow to 4", but a 14 should be fine. They don't swim so they don't need a ton of room.

I personally like the stability larger tanks offer, but Franklin here in the store is happy as a clam in his 14 gallon.

Yea, I'm interested pretty much cause of the tank you guys have set up at the store. If you are keeping it in there I trust I should be able to as well. If I get one on order, I have Thera 0.5mm pellets, rods original and frozen mysis. What live food do you guys use for Franklin and recommend for me to use to supplement the foods I already have?

We feed him silversides and krill mostly. We also feed him rod's predator blend which has all sorts of goodies in it. Usually they need to be fed live foods at first though. Peppermint shrimp work in a pinch, but we can get cheap feeder shrimp too.

That is a friggin' sweet sized fish,my wife woulda scooped him up in a heartbeat.Nice purchase blake, can't wait to see the little guy's new roaming ground.

Note to everyone who expressed interest in possibly owning one of these little guys! There is a frogfish for sale at MCF! His name is Franklin jr! He is not the same species therefore be is not brightly colored and does not have the ability to change color like Franklin and Stanley but he is still a little cutie and has been kicking it at the farm for quite some time! If nobody buys him by the time my 90 is cycled he may find his new home in my refugium!

The one for sale at the store, won't that one get to 8-10" grown up? Way too big for my measly 14g biocube sitting around with no gameplan. I'm looking forward to good news from Blake today, may have to keep the cube after all! (Fingers Crossed)

Thanks guys! I pick his tank up tomorrow.

We ordered 100 feeder shrimp that are mysis sized and Stanley had his thanksgiving feast early LOL. Hopefully these will last me until I get him on frozen. I sucked them up in the turkey baster and gently let them crawl out and he ate them almost instantly. Hopefully he will associate the turkey baster with food now and will assume the frozen shrimp are alive when they drift out of the turkey baster when I run out of live shrimp.

Can't wait to get mine! Gonna put in the official order the day I start moving everyone from the 12 gallon to the 90 in about a week! Also heavily considering picking up Franklin JR the little ugly duckling buddy that I have quickly become attached to at the shop! He might find his new home in my refugium under the 90!
